Check Designer Personal allows you to design and print checks using your ownlaser or ink-jet printer. The designs print directly on special check stockavailable from MySoftware.  You can print blank checks that are ready foryou to fill out by hand, or print from an accounting or personal financeprogram. The designs print using the images and text you create, along with theitems your bank requires, such as fractional numbers and a MICR line.

The design wizard takes you step-by-step through entering the requiredinformation. Then, you can choose from several templates for the type of checkyou want to design. Add customized elements, such as clipart or lines of text.You can even have your signature printed directly on the check.

Setting Up An Account
Before you can design your checks, you need to enter some information about yourbank account. The Create Account Wizard takes you step-by-step through theprocess of setting up an account.  Make sure that you have a pre-printedcheck from your bank to refer to as you go through the Create Account Wizard.Most of the information you need to enter in the wizard can be found on yourpre-printed check. 

Create A Check Design
After setting up an account, you can create as many check designs as you wantfor that account. If you have more than one bank account, use the Create AccountWizard to set up an account for each of your bank accounts. 

Editing Your Account
You can edit your account information at any time and quickly switch betweeneach of your accounts. You can delete accounts you no longer need, as long asyou always have at least one account.   Before using the checks youdesigned, it is recommended that you have your checks verified for usability byyour financial institution.*

Entering the MICR Line
Enter the MICR line from the check you are using for reference by clicking thebuttons in the wizard that represent the characters in the MICR line on yourpre-printed check.The MICR line is printed along the bottom of your check.TheMICR line is used by banks to identify your bank, your bank account, and thecheck number. It must be entered exactly the way it appears on your pre-printedcheck.

* An MICR toner cartridge isn’t required to print valid checks using Check Designer. However, some financial institutions or retailers may require checks with MICR toner.
